That is awesome!
And just out of curiousity... who does/doesn't get ESPNU ?
I believe I heard something about it not being available (even as an add-on) on TWC. Is that true?
I know I get it (on Dish)... but we have the top tier pack, so I don't know if it's something only available at that lvl, or if it's available at lower packs. And I have no idea about DTV.
I assume ESPN has rights to the NIT... but seems pretty crappy that WRAL can't show the games. Thought about it during the game the other night.

You are right Guy, TWC doesn't get ESPNU. We have the full HD-DVR thing going and no luck. Trust me, I think my dad has called them every day to see if anything has changed in the last 12 hours! They keep saying they are "in negotiations". The worst part is that dad actually has the Full Court package (the college bb equivalent of Center Ice) and he still can't get the games ESPNU carries.

That's crap. I wish you/him luck.

Thats awesome that the game is going to be in Reynolds. That place is going to be rocking.
BTW: I know ESPNU is available on DirecTV in the sports package add-on. I had it last year and it was nice although it seems like there is a lot more good programming on it this year which sucks for me since I moved and had to switch to digital cable. It seems like ESPNU and CSTV are on satellite while the Fox College Sports Channels are on Digital Cable.

Sold out in a little under four hours, no less. There are already a few dozen students camped out in front of the building for when student tickets go on sale at 10 AM.

I spoke with a buddy of mine who is out there about an hour ago and he said there were at least 50 people there at the time and it sounds like more and more people are on there way. I read somewhere that they have about 1600 tickets left for student distribution.
This is what college sports are all about.
GO PACK!

Sidney's got to me giddy to have his boys suit up in Reynolds in a more meaningful game than playing an also-ran early in the regular season.

Got in line around 7:30 this morning and was somewhere around 200-250. Got my tickets and I am an ECSTATIC boy. A game in Reynolds that carries meaning is something I haven't seen in many, many years, and the last time I was at one, I was too young to appreciate any of it other than the sheer volume. I'm ready right now.

It's an ESPN broadcast... what else is there to say?
Just switched over, in progress. Oh wait... maybe that was just a teaser... right before going back to commercial it sounded like they'd go back to wrestling until that was done.
Yep... just did.
Unbelievable.

I'm very annoyed that they didn't even have the courtesy of putting the game on on time. I am Tivo-ing the game for Hyena -as she's a TW customer, and Since I was watching the Pens v MTL game, I remembered to click over to make sure all was 'well' and the wrestling thing was on. Whatever. You'd think it would be important since ESPN loves their basketball. Maybe they're just not into the NIT.
Well at least all those fans get to see a nice win at Reynolds. Still a 58 seconds left.... basketball takes a long time to end.

Supposedly, the game will replay tomorrow on TWC Digital 213 (or maybe 212) at 8:00 PM.
As for the game taking a long time to end, it was all Marist. They didn't even bother to foul the guy receiving the inbounds pass for the last two minutes of the game; they'd foul before the clock even started. It was pretty ridiculous.
State got TWO technicals for god-knows-what, and during the shots for the first one, it was ridiculously loud. Easily as loud as the end of Game 7 (though it's easier to be loud in Reynolds, obviously.) It was definitely the kind of loud that frightened me as a child when I attended games in Reynolds. The "Ref You Suck" chant later in the game was the loudest and crispest I've ever heard.
It was an AWESOME night.

The officiating in that game was pretty bad. Whole time I kept thinking "this is the equivalent of a McGeough/Hasenfratz game". Really bad.
Sounded like an awesome atmosphere in there though, and glad State got the W.

AND THEIR COACH WAS THE EQUIVALENT OF HARTLEY!
but if anyone has this game and can put it on DVD...:kiss::kiss:
The ESPNU / TWC is basically a stalemate btw ESPN wanting it in the standard package to get more in fees vs TWC wanting it as a premium channel.
That place was rocking through the game. The refs were bad and it was hard at any point in the second half to know what they were going to call a foul. They seemed to get more aggressive as they saw that they could get away with it and lots of elbows hitting our guys. Marist lives and dies by the 3 for sure. Nothing I saw waranted a T so it must of been words both times. Sidney did a good job keeping the guys under control as they were getting pretty frustrated.
