There's not much I hate more than mowing & weedwacking my lawn when it's 90+ out. I'm at the point where my weedwacker is done and it needs to be replaced if I'm going to be doing things myself.
Instead of that, i'm thinking if I can find a fairly priced mowing service, I'd much rather sit in the AC while someone else dances on the edge of heat stroke while doing my lawn.

Anyone have any people you know, places you've used, etc?
I have a small lawn, it's just a bit of a pain due to landscaping and the large playset for Cole.
If it's going to cost me a ton, I guess I'll suck it up and do it... but if I can find a good price I'll jump on it :)
Thanks

I don't know anyone out in your area, but to give you an idea of pricing - we pay $50/cut for our acre of grass. They are coming at the end of the week and I'll ask how far north they go (the main guy lives in Garner). They don't do anything fancy but we're happy with them. If you'll share your lot size, I'll ask him what he thinks is fair, too.

Oh we have a small lot... .2'ish I believe, and a chunk of that is non-grass. If they're not close, it probably wouldn't be worth them to even bother. I realize my best bet is a neighborhood kid... just haven't had much luck, as none came by last year. Most mowing on our street seems to be getting done by the dads. heh
if you do check on it, thanks :)

I'll just see how much he charges - unless he happens to have other clients out your way, then you might be able to work something out with him. You can also call your realtor - they usually keep referral lists.

I absolutely LOVE our guy. Mostly b/c he only comes every other week - most services were forcing weekly on us. We have a small-ish yard, but the back is fenced in. He does all the mowing, weedwacking and blows the debris off the driveway. He even blows leaves off our deck. All this for $22 a week! Our lawn looks great for under $50 a month.

I'm not sure if he's taking on new people, and i'm in Cary, but I know he lives in Raleigh. His name is Armando Garcia and his number is 834-3726.

This is why I'm buying a townhouse. :D yeah but we have 3k sq ft and don't share walls with neighbors.

Thanks for the info Jaro... every other week for $22 sounds great

Time out. I mowed my neighbor's yard up until two years ago for $20 a cut, and it was nearly two acres! I should've asked for more. HMPH!

You do know that mowing your grass is really good exercise, right? ;)

Mowing the grass is really good exercise. Mowing the grass in Raleigh in July in the era of global warming is a death wish.

A) what would the two of us do with 3000 square feet and b) we share the garage wall, the stairway wall, and half a wall in the "library".....bet you could never tell if you lived here. And we don't have to mow, roof the house, or take care of the siding or brick. We can be COMPLETELY lazy! So, :p to you!

The service that does all the lawns here comes at least once a week too, Jaro. Seems to me they're going to mow the grass to death!

Mowing isn't the problem. I can be done with that in 40 mins tops. Weeding is brutal with all the stuff I have to go around, all the while swinging a 10lb tool. My arms are hard to lift when I'm done. That's no fun. lol

SHC, with 3k sq ft you do what we did... buy a pool table... a bar... tap a fridge... etc ;)

Guy, I take it you live in Raleigh? My attorney (boss-attorney, not representing-me-in-court-of-law-attorney) mentioned yesterday that he has someone cut his yard. He lives in North Ridge. If you live in the general vicinity, too, let me know and I'll be happy to get the info from him.

me too.....(own a townhome).....no yard work. It's great. I waited for mine on the end two sides facing the woods and woods across the street. It doesn't feel like a condo.
