Small changes to the NHL

I was watching the Red Wings and Flames game and one thing kind of bothered me. That the symbol for this years playoffs was the same as last year. Am I the only one who would believe it would add more personality to each playoff year if the symbol was different? Sort of like the NFL does it with the Superbowl.

Also, I think between the benches should be at every game. It gives more in depth coverage to the game like sideline commentators. It gives a little more of an edge on the game for the viewer. I really like Hurricanes Live too.

Maybe some bigger changes would be pressuring Versus to put out the money to be one every cable package and showing more hockey related shows. Also, getting more regular season games on big TV channels. Showing NHL commercials during peak tv hours and during times other than games can help.

the logo for the playoffs is typically the same year in year out. maybe slight variations year by year with major design every so often.

it looks nice, no need to change it. it has the Cup, and the logo shape of each conference.

though, id move western to the left and eastern to the right... like it is geographically instead of aphabetically.

Last year was the first year of the new playoffs logo. The Super Bowl is an event, and moves around, and as such it gets a new logo each year. Playoffs for the Stanley Cup are a tradition, and the logo should be part of that tradition. Personally, I wasn't all that thrilled that they changed it last year, but I realize that the old logo was orange and fit with the orange league logo and they decided to change it all at once.

I like the between the bench commentator, but I can see where it'd be easy to get in trouble. Panger almost got himself into the middle of an altercation between Avery and Kovalchuk in the last game.

Last year, OLN showed a ton of hockey stuff around the games (Legends of Hockey, the Jordin Tootoo special, On the Fly: Final every night, the HILARIOUS The Tournament, so I'm not sure why I'm not seeing it this year. *shrug*

Puck_it read my mind, it always bothers me that the west is on the east side and vice versa. I noticed the logo as well, it bothered me at first, but since the logo reminds me of last year, I didn't really mind.
