I noticed this entry at USAHockey
WCSN.com will provide live and on-demand coverage of all 56 games in the 2007 IIHF World Championship. In addition, select games, including all Team USA contests, will be available on DISH Network Pay-Per-View
So it made me think that there might be people that will want to watch the games on their DVRs (sadly not me as I'm not a DISH Network subscriber) unspoiled. I gues people might be able to watch on-demand on their computers as well.
Anyway, it might be nice to have a thread that's considered to be LIVE discussion and marked that way so no one gets spoiled? Any thoughts?
Here's the US Schedule (which may have been posted somewhere already):

I'd like to watch the games, but with watching pretty much 2 games per night of NHL... I doubt I'll have time. And definitely don't have the storage room on the DVR to leave hours and hours of hockey for later viewing.
But yeah, I'd agree a thread that contains spoilers separate from the general discussion thread is a good idea. thanks :)

On the 'Canes website, they're doing "'Canes Watch" regarding the competition (it's mostly a repeat of the link above, but I thought it was cool that you could go to the 'Canes site to get some news)

So, I guess the game against Austria should be happening right now. Wonder how they're doing?
We're trying to decide if we want to spend the money or not to watch it on Dish.... and then we got to thinking that since Theatre in the Park has Dish Network, too, we might order it for that set, and then we could have a party over there if we make it to the quarter-finals and medal games that last weekend....
They've got a nice picture of Erik up at the US Hockey site:

Uh yeah - I guess a mod will have to change the title of this thread or delete Bitty's spoiler.

I guess I'll put this here. Zack Parise is joining team USA. :D
Devils' Parise back in Team USA sweater
By Kevin Allen, USA TODAY
New Jersey Devils center Zach Parise (http://fantasyhockey.usatoday.com/content/player.asp?sport=NHL&id=1655) has agreed to join Team USA in time for Thursday's quarterfinal matchup against Finland at the World Ice Hockey Championships in Moscow.
"It's a testament to his status as a rising star in the U.S ranks," said USA Hockey senior director Jim Johannson. "It's just impressive to see him accept this challenge after a tough playoff series."
The Americans like their team chemistry, but when the Ottawa Senators knocked out the Devils in the second round of the NHL playoffs, the American brain trust decided to approach Parise, 22, who has a history of strong performances in a USA sweater, dating back to his teen-age days.
"He's a guy we are counting on to provide a spark," Johannson said. "He's a 31-goal scorer at the NHL level and it's great that we got the cooperation necessary to get him over here the day before so he can get acclimated. You just don't pick up the phone and get to Russia. There's a process."
The Americans and Finns will play at 12:15 ET Thursday. The game can be viewed for a fee at WCSN.com. In addition, select games, including all Team USA contests, are available on DISH Network Pay-Per-View.
With Colorado Avalanche rookie Paul Stastny (http://fantasyhockey.usatoday.com/content/player.asp?sport=NHL&id=2092) (four goals, four assists) already playing well, the Americans now have a noteworthy one-two center combination. At 20, Parise played three games, registering two assists, at the 2005 World Championships, and won gold medals playing for USA at the 2002 IIHF World Under-18 Championship and the 2004 IIHF World Junior Championship.
Although the Americans are relatively healthy, they are downgrading Washington Capitals winger Chris Clark (http://fantasyhockey.usatoday.com/content/player.asp?sport=NHL&id=1036)'s status for the quarterfinals.
Originally, the belief was that Clark, suffering from a hyper-extended knee, would be able to play against the Finns. "That may be an aggressive timeline," Johannson said. "He's day-to-day. Obviously we won't put him in a precarious position."

Has anyone signed up for this? Any word on the quality? The price for a monthly package is not very much at all.

That's how I've been watching the games.
The quality is very good -- 'course I'm one of 2 people on this board who don't get all the hoo-hah over H.D.,'cause I don't really see that much difference...... so what do I know!!
I just did the $4.95 for a month pass, since it's all over on Sunday.
The announcer's pretty good, too.
