In case anyone is interested...
In a heartbreaking (for Russia) gaffe in OT, Finland wins (2-1) and advances to the Gold medal game. Russia will play in the consolation round for Bronze.
Russia's goaltender, Eremenko, came out of his crease to play the puck, and simply whiffed on it and Mikko Koivu was there for the easy goal, just sticking out his stick to poke it in behind him. A "blunder" on Eremenko's part, as the announcer called it. :eek2:
Gonchar, Kovalchuk, and Morisov got their parting gifts in the nifty shopping bags. Kovalchuk, good sportsman that he is--- while the other two guys were looking down into their bags, he chucked his into the bench and you could see whatever it was fall out. He had a pissed-off, spoiled brat look on is face. Chump.....
Canada/Sweden begins their game at 11:15AM.
I've got a lot of prior obligations I need to tend to for the rest of the day, so I won't be near a computer to watch this game. Guess I'll have to just check out the scoreboard tonight.
