Does anyone here know of a good place that buys vinyl records for cash and not store credit like Schoolkids Records? I have some records that I want to sell for some much needed moolah, but don't want to be surprised like I was when I took some CDs to sell to Schoolkids a couple of years ago.

I think EBAY would be your best bet. I saw a news story the other day that said that records and record players are making a comeback. Maybe you can get more for them now.

:) I love vinyl ~ gotta love that analog hiss. I just bought a record player that will play 33 1/2 , 45 and 78, so I can listen to my grandmother's old picture records from the 30's. Good stuff.
Try Disc-Go-Round, SB.... they've always been cool with us. :smoke:

i'm with MeanGene on this one. eBay is definitely the way to go. you can make way more moolah on there than by taking them to a record store. i know i've been ripped off on eBay more than once by spending too much on records. :D
seriously, if they're in any kind of decent condition or even a little bit rare, you should be able to make big bucks. i collect a little bit of vinyl (coughU2cough) and have gotten 90% of it on eBay. i even got my record PLAYER from there, haha.

Ah...thanks Rio and Captain Slack. :) I'll add that to my list of possible places I'm looking into, which include...
Backdoor CDs, Tapes, and Games in Chapel Hill (Right next to one of my favorite comic book stores, Second Foundation, on Rosemary Street.)
CD Warehouse
Lost City in Carrboro
Edward McKay's Used Books and Music on Calvary Dr. in Raleigh
Record Exchange on Hillsborough St. in Raleigh
and
Skylight Exchange in Chapel Hill
Besides CD Warehouse, do any of you know if these places will pay for records? Again, thanks for the suggestions thus far... :)
