I once got a penalty that cost a ref his job. My team was about to get a delayed penalty, and I shot the puck down the ice in disgust to the call. The ref asked me if I was going to go get the puck, and I replied "Uh, no.", he then proceeded to give me a 2 minute minor for "Dumping".

After the game I the coaches approached the ref about the call since it didn't appear in any of their rule books (or ANY rule book for that matter). He said "if you guys don't like it, take it up with the league. We did, and he lost his job for making up a non-existent rule.

I guess he could have given me a misconduct minor, but chose to call me for "Dumping" and thus was out of a job. I guess that can be #11 on Guin's list.
