I seem to recall when they announced that it was going to Pinehurst, there was some announcement about how the course would be 'closed' to the public because it was Pinehurst? Was that some idle chatter and it's not an issue? I guess it did change which is good. Hopefully since all the Cup distractions are not an issue this go round, the Canes representation will be intact.

Anyway, I'm gonna miss the V this year- we've changed our week at Emerald Isle from July to the last week in August, which of course is the week of the V...... so all the picture takers make sure your cameras are ready!

Not only is it entertaining, from a star-gazing point-of-view, but it's a really good organization-- really worthy of your charitable dollars.

I am not doing the same job this year as before so I won't have access to which courses the Canes will be playing. I will try to get that information before the event. A fellow volunteer was supposed to do the bag tags, but from what she said, Pinehurst will be handling that duty. Go and enjoy and help support the fight against cancer.

My event was last night (Reverse Raffle). Several of the players bought tickets but none were present .. Lavi was there... nice to see so many of the guys supporting the cancer fight.. even off the golf course. :)

That's still pending. ;) Really it depends on if Cory was there or not. Most of the Canes were on #2, and we also spotted Aaron, who was on #4. Cory was on #8 and he was the only Cane we didn't at least get visual confirmation of. :D

Pinehurst was really nice, and the layout was very convenient. We stayed on #2 the entire time.

The guys were in good spirits, and seemed to enjoy the smaller crowd. We were fortunate with the weather -- it was cloudy all morning, thank goodness, and kept the temp below broiling. All in all, a highly enjoyable experience for a good cause. :D

I am on Emerald Isle this whole week, and the Jimmy v got a shout out on the local news here- they had a clip of last year's event and said alot of good things about how much money the V has raised and I thought how cool it was that the event reaches all across the state.....

I can't wait to hear more about the V and see some pics..... and yeah, the Canes represented as usual...........!

I stupidly didn't even think of taking pics of them playing until we got to the last one (Justin). So I have one pic of him and that's it. I might crop myself out of a couple and post some more eventually.....it depends on if some other people post or not.

Thanks E... it does mean more to me this year. :( The sponsorship money was up so that will help a great deal. Last night at our volunteer party, Pam Valvano said that we had raised $65 million for cancer research. :thumbsup:

Our tables were set up on what will be the ice surface. :D
