This is probably going to be Ron "The Franchise" Francis' last year playing. I really hope not. Well here's my theory: Francis retires, then Mo gets fired, and Ron gets hired. This is just my theory. Tell me what you think. I'm sure you will.

I'd have to say "No." to your theory. Ronnie has said constantly in interviews and such that he has no desire to coach after he retires. One reason he often provides is that he wants a job where you don't have to travel much. Also, I don't blame Ronnie for not wanting what is probably the NHL's most unstable job, seeing that a lot of coaches don't even last one-two years...

Anyway, welcome to the board! :)

Welcome :spin:

and as to your theory, Francis has said very often that he does not want to coach. too much time away from home after his playing days are over is not what he wants for his family. I do see him in a front office capacity.

I believe Ron will remain involved with the Canes in some form. As to coaching, I would venture to say ....probably not. He seems to have no desire to be a coach in any form..I could be wrong, but I think he will become involved with the recruiting and scouting function of the club.
Just my thoughts!

Welcome to our home.

Ronnie will most likely be a consultant (see Scotty Bowman) for the canes.
