Call me crazy but I think we will be OK on offense. Well as long as the team stays healthy. We know O can get 30 G's. I believe Brindy and Cole can get 25 Each. I think Vrbata will suprise alot of people, this will be a breakout year for him. I'm trying to figure out what lines are going to be used. 1st line Vrbata Francis Oneill, 2nd line Stall Brindy Cole, 3rd line
Murray Adams Adams, 4th line Svoboda Vasicek Daniels. What do ya'll think the lines should be? I think our D looks good, And i think Weekes will be great. Remember he was one of the top G's untill the concussion last year.

I think we have the guys to put the puck in the net. Now we are getting some defensive help to help give the offense a chance to score.
We have alot of players that are great 3rd and 4th line guys. I wouldn't mind seeing a good Left Wing signed to play on the 1st or second. Drop staal, send him to lowell, why rush him when we have plenty of others with more experience?
I think a first line of Francis, O'Neil and Vrbata, would be a fine first line.
Seconmd line is definitley Brind'Amour, Cole, and who knows? Maybe Hereema? Maybe Bayda? Maybe Murray?
3rd and 4th lines are going to be hard fought for. We have so many guys that could play those lines. Most definitley Vasicek, Murray, and the Adams will be on those lines. Then maybe Hereema, Boulerice, Tetraenko, Bayda, Brendl etc.

I'm not sure, but aren't O'Neill and Vrbata both right wings?
I like the idea of keeping Bayda with Francis and O'Neill. I believe JR said Bayda will be on the big club this year and working with Ronnie has to be good for the youngster.
I would also like to see Vrbata playing with Brindy and Cole.
Murray would complement Adams and Adams on the third line. I do believe JR said Adams will be on the third line this year.
For the fourth line, and I think we should roll four lines next year, let Vasicek center Svoboda (or maybe even Kurka) and Heerma. If Brendl comes back in shape he could be used here as well. It could do all these young guys a world of good and take some of the pressure off them. Let them develop. We will have to see how the guys play together first. I believe Kurka and Heerma played a lot together at Lowell.

yes but they both played with Ron onthe first line last year. Vrbata scored 5 goals in 10 games. Thats a pace for 41 goals for a full season. Or you could say that is 59 goals in 118 games, 118 being what he played with colorado. Thats a pretty good pace and the boy baring no major injuries is only going to get better.
I think he'd be fine on the first line, or he would roundout the 2nd line nicely with Cole and Rod. Bayda being a natural left wing might be able to handle the 1st line, but I don't know if he has the scoring touch that we really need.

I like Vrbata on the second just because he is not a physical guy at all, and if he is out sniping goals the other team will come after him. Rod and Erik keeping watch would be good!

Vrbata is the perfect type of player to go with Brindy and Cole. Those two will dig for pucks, create screens, etc...
Vrbata can work the top of the circle firing away.
Vrbata with Jeff and Ron doesn't have nearly the same dynamic. You don't have the gettin down in the corners play that is what the 2nd line does so well. True, you have one of the best passers to ever lace up... but Vrbata needs someone to take some bodies off of him.
I've stood next to him in street clothes. I haven't been that size since 8th grade. he's seriously the size of a college soccer player.

I was gonna make a comment about his size too...the first time we all saw him at the RecZone, it was amazing to see just how small he was...he wasn't much taller and wider than the school kids he was signing for... He is definitely a scorer and not a grinder by any means...we need to keep him protected as much as possible..

I agree with shell and guyute. And since O and Francis have plenty of proven scoring ability, in my opinion the first line doesn't really need another guy with a scoring touch... better to spread them out a bit.
