Did anyone here ever go see Flair (or anyone else) wrestle at the WRAL studio? I'm too young, obviously, but my dad has told me a bunch of stories about those shows.

I never saw him at WRAL, but I grew up watching my grandparents watch him on TV on Saturday nights on WFMY in Greensboro. And about 15 years ago, when I worked on a project in Roanoke, our project team used to constantly run into him and Arn Anderson (two of the Four Horsemen) at the bar at the Roanoke Airport Marriott.

When I was a teenager, I saw him at Myrtle Beach in front of the Yachtsman. He was standing next to Ocean Blvd. stroking his slicked back hair. When we walked past he smiled and said "hello ladies" and never missed a beat on the hair. We laughed our asses off after we walked by. :D But in his favor, he did speak. :) I never knew at that moment, what a big part of my life he would become September through April (and longer).
Wooooooooo!

I didn’t have a clue who Flair was. Somebody had to tell me at my first game, way back whenever.
A few years ago, when my husband and I were hosting a family Thanksgiving dinner, we got game tickets for our house guests, because we were playing Pittsburgh at home the day after Thanksgiving.
I’ll never forgot how hard my brother laughed his ass off at seeing Flair do his, “Woooo!” and everybody chiming-in along with him. He’s always been a wrestling fan and knew exactly who Fair is and thought it was incredibly funny. He called him our “mascot!” I think my bro’ got a bigger kick out of Flair on the Jumbotron than getting to see Mario Lemieux!

^ My best friend was like that too, CL. Growing up in NC you knew who Flair was whether you watched wrestling or not. Her family was into wrestling when she was growing up, but she never really was. I totally forgot to warn her about it when she came to a game (Buffalo game where we kicked their butts during the Cup year, BTW) and I thought she was going to have a seizure she was laughing so hard! She almost wasn't fit to watch the rest of the game.
