Today marks 20 years since the Cal Golden Bears stunned Stanford in the final 4 seconds.
One of the most memorable endings of any game in all of sports.
Here's the long version, which is about the last minute of the game. Stanford's march to take the lead, which itself was impressive.
And then the ending.

short version, just the Bears' return.

What an awesome finish. If you love Cal it was even better...but I am sure Stanford fans including John Elway, drank themselves into a stupor that night. Hard to take a loss like that.

I feel doubly old SHC.

This is the NoCals claim to fame; they've not seen glory since then, lol.

The Cal/Stanford rivalry if you're not a Pac-10 honk kinda lines up with UNC/Duke thing but probably not at that level of intensity just cause it's just not our nature in CA to be so crazy, but that game was crazy.

The funny for me was the fact that I had sent in my college applications to UCLA/CAL and Stanford. I ultimately chose UCLA cause I'm so not a nocal, but I remember vividly getting grief from some of my friends afterwards because Stanford was my #2 choice. LOL.

So, back to THE Play. Do ya'll think in 20 years, someone will start a thread with a link to YouTube for THE Goal? #12, baby bird, arms in the air and the sound of the roof blowing off ourbuilding, and Chuck K. losin' his mind???

THE BAND IS OUT ON THE FIELD

True story: My poor sister has to deal with the Elways in the course of her job, and she HATES it because (according to her) they totally bring the assy.

So for Christmas, I'm getting her a Cal shirt to wear the next time Janet sends their houseman around to collect whichever item they've dropped off to have the peons clean and detail for them.

Specifically, I'm getting her this shirt (http://www.bkstr.com/ProductDisplay/10001-10433-17825087-1). ;)
