Anybody else watching this show? I've been watching it religiously! Can't believe the last two weeks. Anyone else find Dat's comedy not as funny as the other guys'?

Great show, Jaro.

Dat has a funny routine...but only for about 2 minutes. The few times I've heard is act it's been the exact same thing. Funny, but it gets old. He does have a good story though...which is the only reason to pull for him.

But Dave Mordal was hillarious. The best on there by far! He'll get something out of his little time on the show, I'm sure.

My wife and I have been watching from the beginning too. You are both right about Dat's routine. 2 minutes and I'm ready for his set to be done. The reason he has won both challenges is that he has gone second both times. The person he has been up against has been the warm-up and Dat gets the close. If he were to have gone first either time, I think he would have been sent packing. My feeling is that Tess or Ralphie (can you believe his GIRLFRIEND?) are going to be the last 2, jmho.

Ralphie makes me sick with his attitude. Last night he said "I know i'm going to win". He is funny but I don't like the ego. How he gets a woman like that i don't know!

The first time Dat performed it was actually painful to watch! By the end I felt so bad for him, then I was floored that he won. I do agree it has to do with him going last. It seems like when he was picked by the group the first time, he should have performed first.

Who's everyone voting for?

Ralphie?
Dat?
Tess?
Rich?
Cory?

My pick is one of the last 2. Ralphie just flat out lost it with the "Blow 'em up!" tirade. Dat, well, he's only got one kind of joke, and it ain't funny anymore. Tess, I was really looking forward to seeing her tear the place down (JMHO, she didn't), but she did exactly what she said she was going to.... have fun and she was funny (the thong joke, ROTFLMAO). Rich, although he said he was going to blow it, he was hilarious and showed he veteran savvy. Cory was great too, and stayed away from being the "bitter older woman" type of comic. I'm going to flip a coin between Rich and Cory.

I only saw three of them...I missed Dat and most of Ralphie's acts...but to be honest none of them were that impressive. Out of the ones I saw Tess was the best, but she just doesn't do it for me...it's all the same about being a stripper and such.
On the highlight clips at the end Dat had a pretty good joke...the best highlight clip of them all. Was his act the same bit as it has been in the past?

If I had to pick a winner I'd pick Tess, not having seen Dat's set. But the guy who should have won was Dave Mordal. Hillarious guy...

Yup. He did the same bits about his mother, and ended his set with a joke he had done in one of his challenges (people walk by him making "Chinese people sounds" and he asks what does that mean? He didn't walk by them saying "Trees, house, sky, street......."). It's like I'm watching a male Margaret Cho. JMHO, but he ain't funny. Dave Mordal deserved to be there.

OH MY GOD, I have no more faith in America's voters. How does someone like Dat win this contest? Who will sit and watch his special? He's used the same jokes every time - he'll need special writers to help him! I'm sure all the other comics are sitting around thinking "why did we waste our time on this show?"

I thought Ralphie would win...
Quite honestly, based on the final performances, nobody was very funny...half of Ralphie's set (that I saw), and one joke of Dat's, were the only ones that made me chuckle...
You have to admit though, after hearing Dat's story you can't help rooting for him. The guy sleeps under a desk...dirt poor...

I still think Dave Mordal was the funniest...

Note from AbNormal27 to the American "Last Comic Standing" Voters.......

BOOOOOOO! BOOOOOOOO! For shame! No wonder you have shows like Joe Millionaire on the air! You ask for that kind of drivel! You could have voted for a quality comedian like Rich or Cory, but you voted so we would see the "Fat Man or Dat Phan" showdown. I hope y'all enjoy Dat Phan's special and subsequent soon to be cancelled sitcom. Thank you very much.

If I had any input into a possible pilot I would sign Dave and Rich and develop a show ---------> GOLD! I am absolutely in shock here. The best comic definitely did NOT win.

Don't look at me... I was to lazy to vote! :smoke:

A Dave and Rich show would be a goldmine...Dave will be the most successful byproduct of this show...mark my words...

I thought Ralphie was pretty funny last night. I would feel happy for Dat winning but i'm SO SICK of hearing his mother's voice. Everytime he's about to preform I feel scared for him, wondering if he's going to embarass himself.

How about the way Jay Mohr told the people who got kicked off? I thought that was pretty stupid. Poor Rich and Cory weren't sure who should leave!

The funniest part, IMO, was Ralphie's face when Dat won. He was SURE from the beginning that he'd win. It was almost worth it for that. Almost.

Did Dat Phan ever have his showcase show on NBC? I'm not saying I'm upset I missed it, but did it ever happen?

I haven't heard anything about it. In fact, I don't think I've heard the name Dat Phan since I last read this thread, and I watch Comedy Central pretty often. The showcase was to be on Comedy Central, the talent contract with NBC, IIRC.

A New Season of Last Comic Standing (http://www.nbc.com/nbc/Last_Comic_Standing/index.shtml) is starting next week. Wonder if it'll be as good as the first...

I've only seen Dat Phan once since he won last year...he was on a Tech TV special about Arcade games. He did DDR for about 5 minutes, trying to be funny. It didn't work.

Anyone else feel Buck Star deserved a spot in New York just due to his persistance? I think this year's group may be a bit better than last year's, however, they seem to be missing the Dave and Rich type elements, as well as a Cory type. Stay tuned.
