What do you think JR should do the rest of this offseason?

Goalies, Forwards, more defensemen?

You tell me!

I'd take Cujo. lol

seriously though... what I want... is to smoothtalk Markov into a deal (under 3mil). I want (at the Very least out of our 3 remaining) Cole signed. Dump at least half of Irbe's salary somewhere else (please).

Agree wholeheartedly with this...I would have loved to think we would have had Cole signed by now. Wonder what's holding things up, besides possibly Markov?

I don't think there is a holdup persay. there has just been no real rush...

they have no rights for arbitration, otherwise we would've seen something done by now.

That's a big 10-4 on that, just ask any of the "we lasted 4 games longer than the 'Canes" Redwings.....The Dominator, he ain't!

well, ya know... I really like Kevin and all... but I don't know that I'd say I'd believe him to get us holding the cup anymore than Cujo would.

hell... been saying the same thing about my boys in philthadelphia. Hackett ain't gonna do it...

but... I'll hope that Weekes has his breakout year this year.....

<---breath holder as well.

Fantasy moves? Just get me some good, proven goalies (I know, I know....there really isn't one), sign Markov, sign Cole, dump Irbe and his salary, and lets bring in a good LW. (pretty much in that order too)

You know what I really want? to see the Hurricanes win a game. I went to a dozen games last season and never saw the Canes win a game. It got to the point that I was going to see the opposing team and their marquee players because we we were dismal and were playing nothing but AHL players--and just when you thought it couldn't get any worse, it did.

The question I have-- is JR finished wheeling and dealing for the season? Is the team we have now (assuming Cole et al are signed) the team we go into the 2003-04 season with? Or will JR try and pull one or two more deals? Any thoughts?

I am with you ontheboards....Just to have a winning season will be alright with me....of course I want playoffs and THE Stanley Cup, but to see them win and see that confidence again, would do my heart good......oh and I would love to see O have a 50 or 60 goal season! :spin:

If Brindy and Cole are back healthy and Vrbata is the real deal, we'll be in good shape. I think the D and the goaltending is fine, and I'm a realist enough to know that the Canes had better get Irbe Ok with being a 2 goalie. Nobody's gonna take the salary, and if he's not OK with that, they'll cut him. he won't get things back together until he accepts that, and if he does, that's good for the Canes.

I think the Canes will wind up 2nd in the Southeast. I think Atlanta rises this year and stays dominant for years.

I think you are correct. I think Mr. Heatley only gave us a sample of what is to come!!

And especially now that they got Bob Hartley, those brown birdies will go places, I fear... :eek2:

I don't know about anybody else, but I'm really eager to see what DesRocher will do for the team this season ~ he's amazingly quick, and I found his goaltending style rather exciting. :) I hope he's going to be a contender.

Yes! Nice to know I'm not the only one who thinks Patty D didn't look bad in his couple of games last season, and is looking forward to seeing him play this season. If him and Weekes can manage to have their A games, the goaltending should be fine, especially with the beefed up D we now have, with or without Markov.
