Wasn't quite sure where to put this, but I just came across this, it came out in the Jersey papers after we played them. I thought it was pretty cute. Too bad we couldn't give Brandon bragging rights. We'll just get them next time.
One significant person close to the Devils' family was rooting for the Hurricanes last night -- Sutter's son, Brandon, Carolina's first pick (11th overall) in the 2007 entry draft.
"He's a huge Carolina Hurricanes fan right now," Brent said. "I brought home some T-shirts from New Jersey after my press conference, along with some Devils hats and golf shirts. This was after he was drafted and he refused to wear them. He said, 'Dad, I don't think I can wear one of them when I'm a Carolina Hurricane.'
"He wants to play here for this organization. His goal is to play in the NHL. He could play here if he continues to develop and continues the path he's on. I told him when he got drafted: 'You've taken great steps to get here, but your work is just starting now.'"
