Thanks for the notice!
Guess my tax return better get filed quickly!
My price (mezzanine) is exactly the same as last year ($770 for 2 seats in the mezz for 2 rounds).

The invoice isn't due until March 1, so you get some time off.
Go Giants!

Yeah, I was just rejoicing about making our last payment myself. Oy!

Now, you get to pay the "deposit" for next season and reduce those payments...
Guyute

Yeah, you can look at it like the deposit. $900 out of pocket for playoffs we may or may not make.. eh. I think it'll be much easier to just make a deposit later. :)

Hard to pay for something that might not be... but if the Caps hit the skids for game or 20, and the Panthers and Thrashers get lost in the Bermuda Triangle, we might get to use it.
At least the money isn't due February 1st. :)

First time I thought about it like this, but for a 10 pack of our three tickets, we pay $360 on the year.. For playoffs, it is $900. Wow, what a difference!

One of the main complaints I remember from '06 was surprise pricing. This year they included a nice chart detailing all of the ticket prices at all of the levels including what they project the gate prices to be. I don't know if they did this last year or not but it's nice to know that they do listen to what people have to say.

yes, they did that last year

They'll also split up the payments over 4 months, which is nice.

I haven't seen my mail package yet, do they stagger them?
Canesluver
01-31-2008, 11:53 PM
They'll split the first bill into 2 payments (I think it's March 1 and April 1), and then when (not if! ;)) the bill for rounds 3/4 arrives, it would be split up over May/June.

If you get tickets for someone else and they want to sit in a different section, does anyone know if you can pay for your tickets and theirs separate? I know you used to be able to make a payment from two sources.

I doubt there's many practices that are static. Seems that everything changes from year to year or even person to person. If you don't like an answer, call someone else. Or, just go to the one person you know you can count on right from the start. ;) lol

Thanks CL, but I meant do they stagger the mailing of the first package. I haven't seen mine yet & it seems that many others here received theirs.
Or is everybody just looking at account manager? I assumed from the chart LT mentioned that the physical packages have been arriving.

As guy said, just as soon as you understand something, it seems to change, but I know when I bought some seats that were under TalkingCanes' account, I just included my own check made out to the Carolina Hurricanes. They had no problem accepting it, lol. If it's gonna be put on a card, I'm not sure how that works, but I imagine as long as it's valid, they'll take it!

Thanks E. They can confuse us can they not? I guess if I could pay for my seats ahead of time and mail the paperwork back with their information and card number.. just don't want Round 3 and Finals (fingers crossed) for my ticket on their card. Wonder if they would notice?

last year, if you got extra tickets (subject to availability) they were at a higher price level (e.g. STHer w/2 season tickets who buys 4 playoff strips got charged 24-game price for the extra two). This year extra tickets are the SAME price as your basic strips. I confirmed this w/a ticket rep last night

Last year there was also a limit on extra playoff strips. Specifically, you could only purchase as many extras as you had regular season seats. That was the first time they imposed such a limit and I can't find anything to indicate they are doing that again this year (which is good for me since I have one regular season seat but have gotten as many as 4 total for playoffs to bring the entire family).
Oh, and I received a 2nd invoice in the mail today. Anyone else getting duplicate mailings?
Shell
02-03-2008, 02:34 PM
we got another mailing yesterday, but not a dupe. It was an "oops we meant to send you a bill for $1500, not $900. Please disregard the first mailing." letter

Hmmm, I'll have to look more closely, but I thought they were the same. Maybe they realized they messed up some invoices and just resent all of them.

According to my ticket rep, if you forwarded tickets this year it messed up the automated invoices that were sent out. So the org has sent out corrected invoices. One of our seats was not originally included on the first invoice. The corrected invoice has all of our seats on it.

Just making sure I don't get charged in one lump sum.. so.. I am asking.. has anyone paid through Caniac Account Manager and chosen the Invoice Payment Plan? I see that you can choose being billed in one payment and then there is another little box you can choose but there is nothing beside it. Any ideas? Suggestions?

I don't have the materials with me at work today, but it seems if you're going to re-up for tickets next year, taking the four payment plan offered in the mailing seems to be the best idea from a cash flow point of view. As it increasingly looks like playoff payments could well be a deposit for next years tickets, that allows you to keep the playoff option open while making a deposit for next year for the least amount of money. If I understand this correctly you pay for half of the 1st round with the balance due if we get it. I'm not clear if you can do this from the Account Manager or not. I was going to mail mine in.

the initial payment is actually half of the first TWO rounds

I'll admit to not reading the materials this time, but if you did the payment plan last year, weren't you LOCKED into buying the the 3rd/4th rounds if they advanced? I seem to recall that you couldn't drop them. I realize that it's unlikely that anyone would plan to do that, but you never know how life and finances work out this far in advance. So if they are doing it this way, it's just a word to the wise.
and if they aren't....never mind.

that's what I meant, I think... I kinda of view it as four payments, two sets of tickets...

I know they blame all this on the Ticketmaster system, so I hope to hell they are saving all sorts of money on huge credits to their account for screwing up so much.

Ok.. I have cobwebs in my ears so bear with me. :D So all I need to pay now is $115 (half of my balance due) and if we don't make the POs, that is all that will be paid correct? Or do I need to pay the entire balance? Sorry to be so confusing!! Who's on first again?

Correct. Half of the balance is paid March 1, the 2nd half is paid April 1.

That would mean that the 2nd half IS billed before the end of the season. So if we're in a battle for the last spot (or the division) that lasts until 4/4, they'll go ahead an bill you twice....with the chance we miss the playoffs.

Heck, even if we've been eliminated by then, I bet it still gets billed.... "It's Ticketmaster's fault.... we couldn't stop the billing once it was entered" or something along those lines..

It appears so, at least that's how I read the info they sent. They will bill your card on April 7th for the remaining cost of the first round... if we get in, a big if, it appears. The link below, when you scroll to the end, explains the process.
