Haven't seen this posted yet. Since VS screws us, no TV for this game:

Versus adds insult to injury for Canes fans

As if falling out of first place and seeing two of the most popular Hurricanes traded wasn't enough for Carolina fans, Versus offered up a slap in the face of its own Monday.

The network announced that it is dropping its coverage of the Carolina-New Jersey game on Feb. 26 to carry the Washington-Minnesota game instead.

Now, there's no local TV coverage of that game on the schedule.

After the first two games these teams played this season, can you blame them?

Seriously. We've sucked horribly in every nationally televised game we've had this year, have we not? Maybe we have a chance to win now.

Can't really argue with the decision. The Canes vs Preds game was about as boring and disfunctional as hockey can get. The guys in the studio even suggested this after the second period when Bill Patrick said, "Well... somebody's gotta win."

Except for the Toronto game back in October but that seems like a million years ago now.

What a game!!!

Then maybe, JUST maybe since it's a home game, people will acually have to show up for a weeknight game?! What a concept!

That's right sit-at-homers when the game's on tv. NO TV FOR YOU! Here's your chance to come out when we need ya... :)

Yeah, some of us already spend a good amount of money on this team. I'm a little beyond buying out-of-plan tickets. So yeah, high-n-mighty "come out to the game for a change", you can feel free to buy extras and hand them out.

Can you get me off work early car3hur? Pay for my gas to drive 3.5 hours to the game? Ticket and parking? I'll need a brat or two as well.

Not all of us live within a few miles of the arena.

I wasn't speaking to the out of towners. I was talking about the people that live in town, that would rather just stay home and watch when it's on tv... :(

It just kinda sucks when teams all North of the border, and others, sell out for a weeknight game against, say the Panthers...just wish we could do that more, that's all I'm saying. I'm not putting anyone down here, just saying I wish we had more come out for weeknight games..

But that was offensive to us in towners too. We don't all have the $$$ to plop down on every game. Some of us (like me) have PT jobs and I can't ask off every night there's a Canes game. I need that money or else I wouldn't have that job. And believe me, the nights off that I do have (usually 2 a week), I love to go home, put on my fuzzy socks, sweatpants, sweatshirt, prop my feet up on the couch, drink a beer or glass of wine, and just chill out in front of the tube.

Think about others situations before calling them out is all I ask.

I haven't been going that much actually during the week. When I have funds I will....was talking about people that have a ton of money, that'd rather just 'not go'. Sorry wasn't clear earlier, but I'm sick and head is foggy with cold meds. :(

This might be a bad idea but I'm going to give it a shot anyway. I'm sure car3hur agrees that it sucks that this game is being dropped especially for the people who don't have the ability and/or the means to make it but I think car3hur's point is that he hopes that some people who do have the means and ability to make the game will go instead of sitting at home and watching it on TV.

isnt that the name of the game all the time, though?

when a team starts stinking and you say something like that, it comes across very "better fan than though". Just say you hope for strong attendance, dont call people on it.

just sayin.

March 16 has all games at 3:00 pm so NBC can pick and choose.
Here's the TV coverage, looks like NBC has picked up 3 of the 4 games, leaving us with no TV at all other than the myserious "A Channel". Anyone know what that is?

Flyers Penguins 3:00 PM ET
3:00 PM ET NBC (HD) XM 206

Bruins Capitals 3:00 PM ET
3:00 PM ET NBC (HD) XM 207

Senators Hurricanes 3:00 PM ET
3:00 PM ET A CHANNEL XM 172, 205

Red Wings Blue Jackets 3:00 PM ET
3:00 PM ET NBC (HD) FSN-D FSN-O XM 209

Something in Ottawa, it's listed as the Ottawa channel for that game as well as the one against them in October, it might be on center ice but idk.

No TV on Tuesday

FSN South offered to free up the time slot to broadcast Tuesday’s game against the Devils but asked that the Hurricanes cover the production costs and the team declined, Hurricanes broadcast coordinator Kyle Hanlin said.

Versus was originally scheduled to air that game but dropped it to carry the Minnesota-Washington game instead.

I blame this one on the Canes at least partially. It's not FSN's fault that VS dropped them. They offered them the slot and the Canes declined.

Here is my theory John Forslund (don't know this) is doing the game for Versus and they couldn't find anyone to work with Trip. Couldn't let Trip work alone as all we would hear about is bugs on windshields, food, the time he was on a date and used the Mr. Microphone,

Especially wouldn't want Trip working alone now that Cullen is back in the line up. We would have no one to text him to tell him the bug bit was going a bit too long.

Completely embarrassing, ridiculous, offensive to fans, etc...

I would consider going... but eh, if they can't be bothered to front the expense of televising a game at the end of February in a playoff push, guess what, I can't be bothered to continually come out of pocket for non-plan games.

It would be cool if they got Rosey to do the game with Tripp. Of course we would have no clue what was going on on the ice but it sure would be fun to listen to.

Y'all.... businesses have budgets. If FSN didn't budget this broadcast-- they don't have the budget for it. The 'Canes organization didn't budget fronting the cost of a broadcast, either. It's not Wayne & Garth in their basement-- it's well over a $100K per broadcast.

I'd rather they spend the money on a rental Centerman.

A little prophetic there, Guy........Word has it that FSN-NY is picking this up. It's now showing up on all the schedules as a broadcast. So those of you with Center Ice *should* be able to pick it up if you aren't able to be at the game.

And I also can't help but wonder if one of the big reasons why the Canes didn't pick it up is because Forslund is already somewhere else that night with Versus.
