I can't find a link anywhere, but several sources are reporting that Mick McGeough has reffed his last NHL game. Today's Ducks-Kings game was his last, and he supposedly isn't being scheduled for any post-season games.

buh bye.....

He announced at the beginning of the season that this would be his last. SUPER glad to see that starts before the post-season.

There are several others who need to retire, too.

Watson, Hasenfratz, McCreary

McCreary had that one bum game. the next game of ours that he reffed he did well. he's consistently been at the top of the league his whole career.

Watson is clueless. Hasenfratz wasnt on my list as high as he normally is.

The one i really want to can, and have always wanted to can... TIM PEEL.

^ agreed, with all of that. McCreary is a genious compared to those other 3.

I think I put McCreary when I was thinking Peel...

But yeah, asking which ref is the worst is like asking which of these turds stinks the least.

Help me out guys. The other night in Washington was it not Jackson that made the calls on Bayda, Walker and Nicky? I thought Watson was trying to control our bench after what Jackson had called. Maybe I was not seeing clearly being that my head was about to blow up I was so mad.

I'm with puck it on Tim Peel!!!

I'm pretty sure it was Brad Watson. The same guy that pulled those Halloween pranks on us had saved some for April Fools day too.

Watson just cant control the game the way a referee should. Things typically get out of hand. Thats my biggest complaint against him.

Isn't McCreary the one with the really thick 'stache? He doesn't bother me so bad.. but I hate Tim Peel. He always calls BS stuff on us... or more than the others I should say. I have wanted to knock him out with a bottle from 328 many times.

Yep, McCreary does have a 70's 'stache.

Chris Lee is my fave. Only because CL, SHC, Guin and I saw his big guns in a bar in Nashville.

Mine too!! Too bad he has that nose, otherwise.... ;)

Seriously, though, I can't believe I"m going to say it but, Hasenfratz actually improved a lot this year. He's my (second) favorite whipping boy but, I'll admit it...he's gotten better.

Watson is a joke. And Peel is probably the new low now that McGeough isn't bringing up the rear. Actually, I think he brings the rear down.

whew, I skirted it, but I do agree on his improvement. I think he did a decent job on the final game, as well... under 'playoff rules', though. Which i guess it qualifies.

I'll agree that he isn't near the atrocity that he was a couple of years ago.
I'll still hate on him though.
While I was groing up I remember going to Flyers games as a kid and how AWFUL Koharski was. He was the Flyers Peel, or the 05'ish Hasenfratz. He had his own cheering section... and it was a large part of the arena. lol. Years and years later, he became a very good ref. I still enjoyed b*tching at him though, just for old time sake. :)
Hasenfratz will face the same fate, regardless of him being good later on.

The fact that Brad Watson made the playoffs and we didn't is enough to make my hair stand up on end!

He's like the Wrigley "Double (mint)" commercials

Double the Divings
Double the Goaltender Interference
Double the Ovie Love
Double the Fun

If I see him and Peel on the schedule next year, I may sell those tickets!

(Oh and LTD - That brawl video was hilarious!)
