No, I did not make a typo. I saw it on ESPN.com this morning. In a women's hockey Olympic-qualifying match in Europe, Slovakia beat Bulgaria 82-0, averaging a goal every 44 seconds.
I cannot imagine losing that badly. You would think they would have given a mercy rule at some point.

Not to mention, Bulgaria was also bombed in the same tournament,
41-0 by Italy
30-1 by Croatia
and
39-0 by Latvia.
In all seriousness, could the Bulgarian women even skate?
Also, what about personal pride? Someone starts running a score up like that against my team, I tell my players to take someone out.
Something about this doesn't make a whole lot of sense.

Were they trying out a new style where you don't have a goalie?

0 shots on net....I mean, how is that even physically possible, even with wild shots, something has to get to the other side right?

Actually sounds like the Bulgarian goalie was one of their more effective players. With 139 shots on goal, giving her 57 saves.

Who scored that goal against Croatia?
Wow, this gives me a nice morale boost: think, Fernando, if you were a Bulgarian girl, you could play on their hockey NT
