View Poll Results: How do you think the Canes will do for the rest of the regular season?
Optimistic- We finish the season with the most points, get all our injured back, and are on a roll heading into the pxxxxffs. 15 78.95%
Realistic- We get complacent, and Atlanta and Tampa Bay turn it on and make the last 30 games REALLY interesting. 3 15.79%
Pessimistic- (How do I say this without jinxing the team?) Things have been great so far. Now we revert to '03-"04 form and fall back to earth. 0 0%
Indifference- Raleigh has an NHL Hockey team?!? 1 5.26%
Kinda-sorta wish Jim Rutherford would trade our 2nd rounder for Brooks Orpik. 0 0%

Major Announcement

I have come up with my new name for "The Concept". Since I wanted to incorporate into the name P for pessimisstic, R for realistic, O for optimistic, I had my basic building blocks. But I needed Something Else. Hmmmmmm.....Eureka, we'll call this thing P.R.O.SE. in the future. (Just so those who like to take part in this poll will recognize what we are doing!)

And now for my commercial moment. I wish to Eric Cole great medical care, a great family life, a speedy recovery, a total return to good health and his chosen occupation, and general godspeed. I wish to Brooks Orthug that he gets benched any time his present or any future team plays the Carolina Hurricanes. I won't wish him bad luck, or injuries, but I hope he makes his own karma. Enough said on this.

I think that there is a greater lesson that I have learned from naming this poll after a member of someone else's team. Eventually their team plays my team. If the "named player" does something terrible to someone on my team, the namer just looks bad for having used this guy's name. I accept that. But there is nothing that says that I have to use this guy's name in the future. And there is nothing to be gained by using another guy's name period. So I choose to use something non-confrontational, sportsmanlike, and as classy (think Tripp Tracy interviewing Ray Whitney!) as our Canes always are!

Returning at season's end as P.R.O.SE!

Why don't you just go ahead and edit the title, now?

You can do that, you know.

And PROSE looks good to me.
