Whoo! #4 for Duke and Coach K!

Are you kidding me? #4 for the juggernaut of college basketball and you can actually still cheer for them?
I can't imagine how on earth anyone could not have cheered for Butler in that match-up. But then, I hate all things ACC so maybe that helps..... ![]() But seriously....another blue championship...be it light or dark. How freaking boring can it get. |

I was annoyed to have stayed up that late just to see the result

I always think it's nice when a local team wins a championship.
Nice win, Duke! |

Well, last night was an interesting finish vs. UNC. Hope the rematch is just as good.

I have to say that the ending was amazing. I love when you can be alone in a room (the Mr had packed it in and was watching in the bedroom) and actually react aloud to a game you have just little to no emotional investement.
When Rivers hit that 3 -- holy cow! Definitely an interesting finish. And it gave me a jolt of energy to think I could finish up the Canes game (wrong). |

I love to see UNC lose but, stopped even watching the score when they were up by 10 with 4ish minutes left. Then I saw the final and we paused the Canes game to go check out the highlights on ESPN. AWESOME.
I'm just sad my most UNC-annoying co-worker is on vacation. I would have loved to have heard her pretend this morning that she had been too busy to watch that game and didn't really care. ![]() |

I just wish Coach K had been nice enough to tell Roy Williams UNC was going to lose so Roy could do that classy thing he does and leave the court early with the players he cares about, leaving the scrubs. Just sayin K, be considerate. Some coaches don't think its appropriate for them and players to stay till the end of the game unless they're getting to win.

I pull for NC State so when it comes to these 2 teams I always pull for the visiting team to leave the home crowd pissed. This year worked perfectly!

Regretfully, in the past my ardent desire to see both teams lose has kept me from considering this very viable compromise.

![]() And this year worked quite well - Carolina losing in a gut-wrenching last second basket. Duke losing from the get go with all those sleep deprived, tent living, body painted, over orchestrated students with their balloon deflated by about 7:30 or so? ![]() *sidenote: When we moved here in 1994, we "decided" to become fans of the hometown team (not having any connections to any ACC team). But now that they hired Gottfried, I kinda got more interested to watch b-ball. Gottfried is my age and played for Bama when I was at LSU. He and Jim Farmer were these hot guys (I think we used the term "fine" back then) that played for Alabama. Bama and LSU were both good and we used to always make sure we got in the first few rows of the student section anyway, but made a special point when we played Bama. I think we even played them on Valentines Day one year and girls had posters for them! (okay I actually looked it up, and we did play Bama on Feb 13, 1987! ) |
