Yeah, i know, everyone's been dying to see this one.

Last place has been established since about 11:00 on opening night or something; this is just here for purposes of tracking what teams will finish in the bottom-5, therefore being able to get the 1st pick in next year's draft.

Last time i did this report, CAR failed to finish in the bottom-5. As a result, they had to settle for Jeff Skinner.

I think what i'd love more than anything else tonight would be for CAR to win in a shootout, just to prove they can do it. And for FLA to knock Winnipeg's chosen sons silly.

Every bottom-10 team that plays tonight plays on the road, and in all but 2 cases, against teams who have already clinched playoff berths.

EDM has clinched a bottom-5 spot, while NYI seem determined to clinch one as well. Based on the last 2 games, ANA and CAR look like they want the other spots... but Muller isn't going to take too kindly to that. If Skinner takes anymore ill-advised penalties, i do expect to see him stapled to the bench. Well, i expect the rest of you to see it, anyway. I'll be at work.

With the win last night, it's pretty unlikely that we move up in the draft anymore since we own the tie-break against everyone except TBY. No big deal probably. What's the difference between picking 9th, 8th, 7th, 6th, 5th or 4th it's all a crap shoot anyway.

No bottom-5 for CAR, which is just fine by me. It's almost like we got a free draft pick yesterday anyway.

I used to try to keep at least half an eye toward what was happening in the college ranks, but i haven't been as good at that the past few years, and i've not seen Welsh play. Watching some video of him now, though, i must say he looks like he has potential. Let's not take the foot off the Parise pedal just yet, though...
