They are certainly making it hard for the casual fan to find a team to root for in the Super Bowl. You've got Ray Lewis on one side and the homophobes on the other (which seems really ODD to be a 'thing' on a team that just happens to be based in SF).
I think I'm just going to have to watch the game and see which way I end up leaning. |

I don't get the homophobe thing. I tend to not worry about things that don't affect me.

And I'll admit to only hearing soundbites about it, but I don't get the other 49ers who seemed to be implying that they were ignorant to the "It Gets Better" campaign (in which they participated) and said they thought it was about "bullying" and not related to LGBT youth. So, does that mean that bullying is okay as long as it's gay kids? I mean, maybe that's not the real story, but that's what's floated down to my level of awareness.
Then again, it's pretty stupid that just days before the Super Bowl that "the media access" has to include people like Artie Lange. I guess that puts the circus in "media circus". I mean, it's not like the league is going to suffer if they don't do stupid media. |

And on the day that she did show up for court, her dad and his girlfriend were having a baby. Yes, because Michael Lohan (who is now threatening to write his own tell-all book about ex-wife Dina and daughter Lindsay) really should have more children. Oh, and he apparently knocked up the girlfriend while she had a restraining order against him, so get her dumbass off the planet, too. And in case it hasn't been said before, I hereby nominate Rihanna and Chris Brown. Buh-bye! |

That whole Lohan clan needs to disappear and I agree with the Rihanna and Chris Brown thing too. She had all that sympathy from everybody when he was whupping that a$$. I just don't understand how you can be with somebody that does that. |

If you're Dreama* up the holler in a trailer with five kids, I get it -- I get that it seems your life (even if it possibly means your death) is locked into the abuse, that there doesn't seem to be a way out. Everything that could help -- money, education, freedom to run, somewhere to run -- must feel so far beyond your reach that you can't even hope for a different life, never mind make it happen.
But Rihanna? Who has more than a couple of nickels to rub together? And, worse, has young fans who view her as a role model. Sh*t, I think I'd rather her be busted for drugs than take back a beater. And even Dreama might want to think about making Earl some black-eyed peas. * No disrespect to any Dreamas who may be lurking here, but the only place I've ever heard/seen that name is my homestate, so it's the one that always comes to mind for "real county woman." |

My ex-wife (divorced 25 years ago) spiraled down the redneck toilet and has become the encyclopedic definition of white trash. My oldest daughter told me just this weekend that my ex "up and moved" to WV out of the blue for some internet boyfriend. By the way, she just had a husband die of cancer a few months ago. Maybe she will meet Dreama and learn to make Earl those black-eyed peas. Oh, and she could definitely go away and make the world a better place. On the Rhiana thing, who exactly is going to feel bad for her when he dots that eye again? I'm not saying that she has it coming, I'm just saying that she should see it coming. |

Just a guess, but I think this is a pic of Dreama.
![]() Complete with "White trash" printed camo t-shirt. or maybe this is Dreama and Earl Kermie will have to be the judge to see if I got it right. |

I think Dreama is to kermie what Shadynasty (yes, that is for real and I've been aware of TWO of them) is to me. Just someone you've encountered in the past that perfectly represents a specific archetype. Based on kermie's description, I think SD nailed it.
![]() And I'm in agreement with the difference between Rhianna and Dreama when it comes to staying with an abuser. She has options and to not take advantage of them is stupid and really kind of offensive. |

Yes, SD and SHC have the right idea. Y'know how "Bubba" is kind of the generic name for a redneck guy? "Dreama" is my generic name for a redneck-ish/white trash-ish/country woman. (Someone I know uses "Wanda" instead.) She may not revel in the redneck ways like Bubba does, but I bet there aren't many Dreamas from metropolitan areas. (I've really only seen the name in WV.) Sort of like how a "holler," while technically a "hollow," really isn't the same thing in practice.
And how about people who name their children Dreama or Shadynasty? They need to go, too. ![]() |

As there's a decent chance I may stroke the eff out over this today, I hereby nominate every person who shares any political/military meme on FB without taking the 3 1/2 seconds to Google its accuracy. Really, even a hunt-and-peck typist can type "bill cosby i'm tired" in approximately 10 seconds -- certainly less time than it takes for him/her to type, "I always knew I liked Bill Cosby, but this confirms it," or "This a great read -- good perspective from Bill Cosby." It also doesn't take long to Google "chris kyle whitney houston" and see if it's true if the President ordered flags flown at half-staff for Houston while never mentioning Kyle's death. And if you even start to type the words, "I don't know if this is true, but if it is, it's a really terrible thing," then take your fingers over to Goggle and see if Starbucks refused to serve Marines before you hit share.
(And then, when I kindly point out that Bill Cosby isn't really tired, I'd also ask that you not tell me that it's still a great read and a good perspective, or that it's the truth even if Bill didn't say it. Because I prefer my perspectives to not come from someone who, somewhere along the way, was either too chicken to stand behind his/her own words or flat-out lied that Bill said it. I'm also not quite willing to attach the word "truth" to that kind of background. So I might have to nominate some people to leave twice.) For the love of your own credibility and my ability to keep you as an FB friend, in the day of Snopes and UrbandLegends, GOOGLE THAT CRAP before you share it. We don't have to agree politically, but not spreading lies would be really awesome. Last edited by kermelbar : 02-13-2013 at 08:07 PM. |

BRAVO Kermie!!!!
And I'll add that that kind of stuff is a big part about why I deactivated my FB account last Feb (well, I went FB-free in Feb and then shut it down when I realized I was happier with out it). I never understood people that did that......ever. And I never understood why people didn't seem to care if people they are "friends" with have a different political leaning and posted as if everyone would share the humor (or outrage) at whatever they were posting about. And I felt that way about a former roommate of mine, with whom I'm certainly more aligned-with politically speaking, but I hated the way he posted as if EVERYONE would feel the same way. It made me uncomfortable. But good lord, the outrage over false-hoods....good grief. As someone once said in a high profile appearance....."check the transcript". ![]() (Now I'm off to click on Kermie's links....because apparently I'm blissfully ignorant! ) |

I really don't know what this sawed off moron's malfunction is. I thought when his daddy died that he might be a little more, shall we say..sane...than the old man. If anything, he is crazier.
