2010 Olympics: USA vs Canada
Figured this matchup could use its own thread
 FYI - We went to DVR this and didn't have MSNBC in HD. I looked on the Dish site and it said we should since we have the 250 package + HD. I pulled up the online chat with Dish and they "reauthorized" our receiver which made the HD channel available to us. Just wanted to post in case anyone else had the same issue.

Wonder if that would work with DirecTV? That's the only Olympic channel we have that's not in HD, so of course that's where NBC shows this game.

What an incredible hockey day this is going to be!
Russians vs. Czechs US vs. Canada Finns vs. Swedes Had to sleep in to make sure I could hold out for the duration. Holy cow this is awesome.

Yes, indeed, it's a great day for hockey.
I have spent some of the morning reading all the USA/Canada rivalry stories, and hub got this one sent to him, and it's just funny--- so typically low key of Gleason: Lots at stake for US/Canada on Super Sunday and I loved the Puck Daddy column and tweet where Ryan Kesler said, when asked about Canada "We hate them".

so i dont understand, your own country versus your biggest hockey rival in primetime on a sunday night on a channel everyone can get, sounds like an ideal situation to me but i guess not. i know not everyone likes hockey, not everyone likes ice skating, curling, or luge either but that is forced on us in primetime, i think for one night hockey can be forced on everyone. instead we get to watch it on msnbc, some in HD, some not at all but czech republic vs russia?, you can watch that one on nbc!

Y'know, people like to talk a lot of sh*t about Americans and our guns, but I think it's pretty damn funny that Canada is considering shutting down the liquor stores for the game tonight, apparently due to bad behavior.

I'm irritated that tonight's game isn't on NBC but, whatever skating thing they're showing is actually a medal event, whereas this is preliminary round game. That actually makes a lot of sense to me.

Can you believe hubby didn't think it was 'worth it' to try to go? I am less then 6 hours away!! How many people can say in their lifetimes that the Olympics are that close???
