I do find that the name on the front means more to me than the name on the back. If I focus on that, I'm OK. I just have to quick snarling my lip when certain USA names are mentioned and look at the big picture.

When it comes to cheering, for me: Team USA + Timmay > Staal

ETA: Mother of God, I just clapped for Miller. I'm going to need a shower when this is over.

Plus, I have a strong suspicion that come the Sochi Olympics there might be another #30 in goal for Canada. I'll have a MUCH harder time pulling for him to get lit-up. Staaly will have other chances. This is my last chance to see USA beat Canada and feel an extreme amount of satisfaction in the results.

I actually have absolutely nothing against Ryan Miller other than that he plays for the Sabres. Get him in another jersey, and I'm fine with him.

Especially if he keeps making saves like that one!!

2-1 at the end of the first. They outshot us by freaking miles. Gotta reel that in.

good game so far pretty fun to watch. usa can't get outshot like that for 3 periods though canada will start to put them in eventually. brodeur looks pretty shakey making some bad decisions. hurricanes guys look good, darn staal had to score only time i don't want to see him scoring. gleasons been alright looks like his main job is to keep the front of the net cleared. been fun to watch.

Glad to see Staalers finally score. Now the US can beat them. Marty is already letting his head get in the game, meaning he's going to mess up big time. We need more SOG, though. 16-6. Ugh.

I really wish I could just mute the damn idiot announcers. I'd rather hear JF call this. He wouldn't be so pro-Canada.

I swear, the US is playing like the Canes did early in the season. Sloppy!

Eric Staal, THE CAPTAIN OF THE CAROLINA HURRICANES, is getting lots of love from the announcing crew.

Canadians look a LOT sharper than we do right now. Shame, cause Princess looks shaky if we could capitalize.

Marty was so worried that someone breathed on him, he forgot about that goaltending business.

3-2 USA

And that was the closest thing to a fight I've seen so far (granted I haven't seen everything)...

what a great period and good for you staal taking that penalty. canadiens started out that period flexing their muscles but i thought the usa leveled it out and recovered pretty well leading to a goal. brodeur doesn't look good at all to me very jumpy doesn't look comfortable. if usa can keep on the pressure and limit canadas chances with the way brodeur is playing i think they can pull this thing out.

BTW, the NHL CANNOT pull out of the Olympics. This is too freaking awesome. I'd still be pulling for USA but it wouldn't be like THIS.

I agree 100%. I just can't imagine how the NHL can think this isn't good for the sport.
