Default Game Thread vs Columbus Blue Jackets 3-23-12

Game Day in Columbus, let's get after it.

Can the Canes go 5 in a row?

They have no other choice, and why not tonight. The Blue Jackets started poor and are ending worse if that's even possible. Even with their coaching change, nothing has changed here, except more misery.

Looking for lots of jump, more goals from the Captain and to see how Joni does on game 2 of his return.

Good news for all of us, this one is on TV. FS Carolinas, YEAH.

A few Caniacs are making the roady to the Arena District, hope they get to see a win.

We get Mason in goal, who is like 3-0 against us. No better time than now to give Mason a lose against us.

Yeah and he's had a horrific year, so that record should get shattered. He's just been too ugly to watch.

And according to the fans, they are on a 0-35 PP drought. Guess that'll get snapped tonight

Here's my deal for the night: Carolina can take the win in the hockey game tonight and Ohio can have their win in the basketball game.

Definitely. And do they have anyone that hasn't scored a goal this year?

When the in-arena music kicks in it's hard to hear John and Tripp.

I can't quite put my finger on what is going wrong but, we do not look particularly good tonight.

And I hate Prospal.* I forgot that Canes killer was in Columbus now.

*hate him because he kills us, not like I hate JJohnson or Matt Cooke or anything.

Ugh, 2-0. Between that and the way the guys in front of him look, I'd be pulling Cam right now.

Looks like we'll be able to stop this goofy playoff talk.

Oh look they get a PP goal, shocker. Well they are no longer in a drought there.

This game has all the ingredients for a lose. Columbus sucks, they have major injuries, their defense sucks and they have a hard time scoring.

Well play the Canes and all your worries are over for the next 60 minutes

We for whatever reason cannot play the teams we should beat. Who wants to bet, they were looking ahead to tomorrow night against Detroit?

Thank you, Bowman. Maybe this shakes them up a bit.

ETA: "Umberger, wide-open." Nevermind.

Argh. Just so many chances. Mason seems quite injured.

^ Should have been more specific....they're burying the season.

(not that it wasn't already buried)

Just... Wow. I remember when there was a rumor we were going to trade for Umberger. Sigh.

Well, I knew it was a long shot anyway, but sucks to really know your season is over losing to Columbus. Can't believe that's how they are going down. Would have been easier to sink in if Detroit was kicking our asses, not Columbus.

You can officially put the nail in that coffin.

ETA: Can we please give Boucher a freakin chance tomorrow. Not saying its all Cam's fault, but he sucked just as much as the team did.

And I'm really freakin pissed that Columbus can't freakin score for crap and yet they put up 5 on us, and maybe more cause the way we are playing they could probably get 3 in these last 2 mins.

Yeah, this is pretty baffling. Pretty much a wholesale, top to bottom, didn't show up. I feel like Mo is coaching again.

And that is pretty much the equivalent of a wooden stake through the heart and a full helping of daylight for Dracula.
