Hard to collect my thoughts. Hard to rewind and think of all the pain and the cheers, the friends I met along the way, the empty sports bars I had to beg to find a Cane's game. All the times I had to "settle" for Chuck Kaiton. Fishing for a largemouth bass in the State Fairgrounds pond over the fence before game 3 against Detroit because I was gonna toss it on the ice to counter any octopi (obviously didn't catch any). Sitting at home with a new Caniac who watched every game that was televised this season, my 79 year old father. He loves "Big Red," as he calls Commodore. To many thoughts to list.

All I know is that every one of the Canes who are Canes today, are Canes now and forever. No matter if any of them leave, they are our boys no matter where they go. I love them all so much and I am so happy for them. Only in 2002 did I see a team that I pulled for work so hard. Now they did it again and won. 2006 will live forever. Wow.

Would it be wrong for me to put a Cam Ward jersey on my Froogle list now? Would be a good Canes jersey for me to have...and the red would look good next to all my Wings ones.

In all seriousness...I mean, is that kid for real? I'm gonna be watching him intently in upcoming seasons, no doubt.

Cam Ward's a keeper, for Carolina that is ...next jersey on my list. I refused to buy one of his until this series was over...

At around 11pm tonight, my cell phone exploded. I got text messages from people who I have no clue who they are. Phone calls aplenty. People offering good wishes.

Short sweet thoughts for tonight:
- Great to see Cole on the ice again in old form. Completely fearless and drawing penalties.
- Glen Wesley, no one in the league deserved it more than him. Pure class of a player/human being.
- Cam Ward, joins the ranks of legends like Dryden and Roy, and he's OURS!!!
- The no name defense scoring two games, purely amazing.
- That was quite possibly the best game I have ever watched. Dear Lord, how could anyone that watched that game NOT become a hockey fan?

It was awesome to see Rod and his tyke skate so he could touch the cup.

Was in 312, in front of some peeps who were speaking fluent Spanish-=-about 12. Awesome! Then two Oilers fans beside me. Saw lots of tears--like us in '02!
